• The item needs to be in your inventory. If Thomas has one in storage, the glitch won’t work properly.
• Speak to Boldwin, select any item in his shop and bring up the “How Many?” dialog box. Don’t do anything here.
• Walk towards Thomas, meanwhile, as soon as possible, activate a Shard of Archstone, Nexial Binding, or the Evacuation miracle (if done correctly Boldwin won’t say anything), and in front of Thomas press Start to make the warping dialog box disappear.
• Now speak to Thomas, deposit the item you want to duplicate. The warping animation will initiate immediately.
• You will find 1020 of the item in storage. (Note that most items will be reduced to 99 in storage and 99 in backpack as soon as you try to withdraw.)

Metacritic

This is the holy grail for the non-informed gamer. This site takes a bunch of reviews, and ‘averages’ the score to give us their METASCORE. On this site you can easily see the highest scoring games for any console from the Playstation era or later. Simply click the ‘Games’ tab, then select ‘High scores’, which shows the highest scores for games across a variety of platforms of the last 90 days. A good feature if you want to look for more great games is looking at the highest scores of all time. Once you’ve selected a game, press the ‘See all * Critic Reviews’, which gives a good overview of reviews,  often proving more useful than you think when deciding whether or not to buy a game.

Pro:

• Clear and easy to use lists of games based on scores
• Frequently updated (more then once a day)
• Good summaries of reviews, giving a clear idea of what a game is like

Con:

• Metacritics philosophy on using grades: ‘[The] METASCORE may be higher or lower than the true weighted average of the individual reviews, thanks to this normalization calculation. Normalization causes the scores to be spread out over a wider range, instead of being clumped together. Generally, higher scores are pushed higher, and lower scores are pushed lower’
• Low graded user reviews often are badly written or with bad argumentation
• User scores are often based on the hype, or the anti-hype (For example Critically acclaimed Little Big Planet (ps3), although it might not deserve the 95 metascore, has a user score of 65)

GameFaqs

This site has some of the best walkthroughs on the internet, easy to find with the simple search function at the top. You can also find release dates (which are moderately accurate), cheats for most games, and it has Q&A for a lot of games (answering questions you might have faster then looking through a complete walkthrough). A great feature to look at as well is the Top 10 lists. These often contain interesting or funny lists, which are defenitely worth checking out.

Pro:

• Some of the best walkthroughs on the internet are easily findable, and often completely up to date
• Good release dates on most games
• The ‘Top 10 games’ on the main page often give a good idea of what the most played mainstream games are of the moment

Con:

• The forum behind the site has one of the worst communities on-line
• Heavy advertising on front page (no pop-ups though)
• It’s intertwined with gamespot.com at certain parts (a gaming site which is known to bend under pressure)

/v/’s Recommended Games Wiki

This site is completely different then the others. This is a site completely written by amateurs that came from /v/ – The vidya, and thus has some of the lesser known games. Simply click any console you want, and you’ll get a big list of recommended games. Note that they use the metacritic score system to indicate  how the ‘mainstream’ crowd likes a game. For the inexperienced buyer it’s not recommended buying anything indicated in yellow (neutral metascore), let alone red (negative metascore). Note the special lists that this wiki has, for example the ‘LAN Games’ list.

Pro:

• Good recommendations for almost any console
• You can get recommendations on games you else would have never bought

Con:

• Editable by everyone, which gets messy from time to time
• Some recommendations aren’t that good
• Some parts of the site are slightly outdated
• Hardly any interactivity, just lists

This one is for an animated mouth Phoenix Wright mouth drop, which after a couple of frames starts to look ridiculous

Here the third frame is edited, to make it an even more extreme head knock back/scream

This is a bigger sheet, it contains a blank eye phoenix wright, for editing purposes, an evil ‘hidden grin’ look for more diverse situations, an ‘Ive been lasered’ look with/without eyes to be able to make a blinking effect, and a completely animate-able Godot laser shooting (which I’ve tested in flash in the past, and it looks awesome).

I made this one for valentine, the 2 edited sprites are the blank hat (add your own logo/symbol?), plus a very simpel added heart symbol.

Here we can see a mask-less Godot, edited from the sprites on the sides. I has his new hair (masked hair on the left), but his old face (the one from the right) With some hair editing, shadow editing, and general small edits, we get old-maskless Godot in the middle.

And this is a simple recolor of the previous maskless Godot. Doesn’t he just look better in a Gray shirt?

”Well one thing is that the Nintendo DS has two CPUs one at 67MHz and the other at 33MHz with 4MB of memory and seperate video memory. The Nintendo 64 has a 93.75MHz processor with a “Reality Co-Processor” at 62.5MHz and 4MB of RAM expandable to 8MB.

Most N64 games could virtually be ported to Nintendo DS. One thing is that the N64 supported resolutions of up to 640×480, Nintendo DS supports one resolution, 256×384 (counting both screens). Besides that, one of those screens is usually just a map or something without 3D graphics. So knock that down to 256×192. Nintendo DS cartridges, I assume, have a faster transfer speed than Nintendo 64 cartridges and the memory is probably faster. Not only that, ARM is a very efficient architecture which means that more tasks can be completed in less instructions and memory is more efficient.

Emulating N64 games on DS is 100% impossible, but most games could be relatively easily ported to DS. Other games would need a virtually perfect port with every optimization in the book to work, games like Majora’s Mask may be able to handle it if the memory is more efficiently used. That separate video memory on the DS would certainly help wonders.

That being said I took on the liberty of taking a look at which games actually use the expansion pack, and the games were you MUST have it for are: Donkey Kong 64 and The legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask. There are 2 other games, among which Perfect Dark, who need it for a lot of features ingame. (the other game is Starcraft 64). All other games should be perfectly portable (maybe even the DK64 en LoZ: MM if you use the GBA slot as a memory expansion (although the new DSi drops the gba slot so meh.) So in the long run it can be done, but not by homebrew, but by recoding the whole game. And only Nintendo has the money and the willpower to do something like that. Yes we all should wine and wine till they do. Until then I’ll enjoy myself with the countless of other good games the DS has to offer. (We can only dream:)

In this 2-man blog, the authors are represented by 2 equally important and influential groups. One is the main author and self-proclaimed nutcase, the other is a backup author who will take over once he has decapitated me and made a sock puppet from my head. For now, real names will not be mentioned, and we will instead use codenames.

Introducing the first (and foremost) author, Hatman. As those observant intellectuals among you may have noticed, I wear a hat. It’s a beautiful hat, but more about that later.

I proposed this blog to my friend, and after some discussion he agreed to creating a blog where we would both contribute to the content. I’ll post some more details on a separate entry, this is just the general introduction.

The secondary author is Swis. A good friend of mine, and a colleague at work. Being a bored young individual, much like myself, he decided that if we were to waste time, we might as well start a blog about it. Again, in-depth information may be found on another page.

So, now that we have introduced the “Who” behind this blog, let’s move on to the “Why.”

I’ll be the first to say that this blog will simply be an outlet for us, of random thoughts and images, and occasionally perhaps even a brilliant idea. As you may have noticed, I tend to think in odd lines, which often goes paired with Swis’ oddly rational thoughts. The offspring of these random thoughts will be posted here for your reading pleasure.
